Some want to please people, and create things that are wearable and practical, others make showstopping pieces the wearer feels special in, but for Watanabe, it is all about self expression - for real, can you imagine anyone wearing these? (Apparently, some people do!)

Watanabe is a Japanese fashion designer born in Fukushima, Japan in 1961. He went on to attend Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, graduating in 1984, and he quickly became the protégé of Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo.
