If I could have the brain of any designer, I would ask for Alexander McQueen's - he's an absolute genious in my book!
Dark, whimsical, out of the box creations have always been my main interest, and when I discovered McQueen, I felt like he was a complete soulmate - his garments not only look amazing, they also evoke a memory or a hidden thought in people, and that's the power of a real artist.

Born in 1969, Alexander McQueen comes from a family of 8, at the age of 16 he left school and basically pushed his way into the fashion industry by working as an apprentice at Anderson and Shephard, and then at Gieves and Hawkes.
During his studies, he learnt everything there is to know about making outstandingly well executed pieces from 16th century gowns to sharp, tailored garments.
In 1996 he was appointed Chief designer at Givenchy, but 5 years later he left the brand, and started designing for Gucci.
He was chosen British Designer of the Year 4 times during his career, International Designer of the Year by CFDA, and CBA by the Queen of England in 2003.
McQueen committed suicide, and died very young, at the age of 40 in 2010.

It's so crazy, that many talented people pass away so early on... But looking at McQueen's pieces, his legacy still lives on. No doubt about it, he was one of the biggest names in fashion. In his short life, he left us with more amazing pieces, than a life's work from many other designers combined.
Yes, I'm a total fangirl obsessing over his stuff!
