The designer Bible - Part 44. - Hubert de Givenchy

Hubert de Givenchy is a french fashion designer. He founded The House of Givenchy in 1952.

He designed for famous clients: main of personal and professional wardrobe of Audrey Hepburn and clothing for Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy were made by him. He met Audrey Hepburn on the shooting of the movie Sabrina. 
He was also named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1970.

In 1995 he retired himself as he had not found any challenge anymore in his profession. John Galliano was nominated for his position, later Alexander McQueen and Julian MacDonald followed him and nowadays Riccardo Tisci is the head of the Givenchy label.
